First of all, I am so glad to be back to writing in Medium. And what better way to mark my comeback than with a FAQ session on direct selling. Direct selling network marketing can be a tough industry to make it big in. Many who try their hand in the industry fail to succeed not because they do not put in their effort but because they are not fully aware of the nuances of the field. There are also many misconceptions and misinformation about the industry that puts people off it. That is why I decided to answer 10 of the most common questions that I get about the direct selling network marketing industry and about QNET India. Here are the top 10 questions that all direct selling network marketing entrepreneurs should know the answer to if they want to succeed.

Is direct selling a sustainable business model?

One of the biggest reasons that I have heard detractors of direct selling is that the business model is not sustainable. I have heard many people say that direct selling companies are bound to fail because of this and come up with complicated calculations to show how the world’s population is not enough to sustain the industry for long. But I have always asked myself- doesn’t the same apply to all businesses. Everyone I know has a fridge and television. But does that mean that these industries are not sustainable?

Just take, for example, the top direct selling companies in Asia like QNET. It has over 20 years of experience in the global market and has no signs of slowing down or being unsustainable. In fact, it has shown great promise in the last few years, especially during the COVID pandemic.

Can you have a career in direct selling?

Direct selling is an ideal opportunity for anyone who wants to start a career and not conform to traditional jobs. It can be done for years and can even be inherited. I myself am aware of many people who have had more than a decade of experience in the industry. And that too as a full-time responsibility. Does that not make it a viable career option?

Is direct selling a get rich quick scheme?

In economic terms, direct selling companies are a micro-entrepreneurial model of business. But that does not mean that it is a get rich quick scheme. You still have to put in the effort and time to become a successful direct seller. So do not think you can get rich right off the bat if you are just starting off as a direct seller.

Should I join early in a direct selling company to succeed?

There seems to be a big misconception that you have to join a direct selling company in its infancy if you want to be successful. Nothing can be further from the truth. Yes, the earlier you join a direct selling company, the higher your profits will be. But that’s just simple math and logic. If you had to become a founding member in a direct selling agency, then the business model would not work as no one would join it later.

Can women be successful direct sellers?

Irrespective of your age, gender and educational qualifications, anyone can become a successful direct seller with a top direct selling company like QNET. And this includes women too. After all, I am a financially independent woman, and all of it is thanks to working as a direct seller with QNET.

Are direct selling network marketing and pyramid schemes the same thing?

Direct selling and pyramid schemes cannot be any more different from each other. Direct selling is a legitimate business model, whereas pyramid schemes are illegitimate and fraudulent businesses that aim to trick their customers. The reason why the misconception that direct selling and pyramid schemes are the same arises from the fact that many pyramid schemes try to masquerade as direct selling companies. There are many ways by which you can find if the company you are dealing with is a legitimate direct selling business or an illegitimate pyramid scheme.
